U.K. Green Bank Funds Biomass Power at Scottish Distillery
The U.K. Green Investment Bank is
funding installation of a biomass boiler at a whisky and gin
distillery in Scotland.
The Balmenach distillery in Speyside, owned by Inver House
Distillers Ltd., will also make a capital contribution to
develop infrastructure needed to support the project, the GIB
said today in an e-mailed statement. The 4-megawatt boiler will
reduce energy costs and curb emissions and is expected to start
working in the first quarter.
