Workshop on biomass heating
A workshop demonstrating the benefits of using renewable heat will be held at Hegan Biomass, Lurgy Road, Stewartstown, on Thursday 11 December from 12:30pm – 3pm, writes Cathal Ellis, Renewable Energy Technologist, Greenmount Campus, CAFRE.
Advice will include how to use the benefits of renewable heat to dry woodchip, heat farm houses and utilise the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), the availability of different boiler types, fuel delivery systems, storage requirements and fuel types.
Speakers:
Alan Hegan – Director, Hegan Biomass (An overview of drying & processing woodchip and options for biomass boilers for farms and rural businesses)
Cathal Ellis – Renewable Energy Technologist CAFRE (Biomass costs and potential of the RHI)
Following the demonstrations there will then be a tour of the woodchip drying facilities currently in use at Hegan Biomass and an opportunity to view the newly installed Heizomat woodchip boiler used in the new drying shed.
